Dsdivn: A Distributed Software-Defined Networking Architecture for Infrastructure-Less Vehicular Networks
2017
International audience; In the last few years, the emerging network architecture paradigm of Software-Defined Networking (SDN), has become one of the most important technology to manage large scale networks such as Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs). Recently, several works have shown interest in the use of SDN paradigm in VANETs. SDN brings flexibility, scalability and management facility to current VANETs. However, almost all of proposed Software-Defined VANET (SDVN) architectures are infrastructure-based. This paper will focus on how to enable SDN in infrastructure-less vehicular environments. For this aim, we propose a novel distributed SDN-based architecture for uncovered infrastructur…
An advanced and distributed control architecture based on intelligent agents and neural networks
2004
A new layered architecture for the implementation of intelligent distributed control systems is proposed. The proposed architecture distinguishes four layers in a distributed control system. Upper layer consists of a digital control layer, where high level decisions are taken. This level is implemented by means of intelligent agents that carry out the discrete control functions, system supervision as well as diagnosis and fault tolerance. Third layer deals with numeric values, performs analog operations and implement analog control loops. It is also in carry of the conversion from numerical variables values to evaluated expressions. This layer has been implemented by means of neural network…
Tracking control of network distributed systems in presence of variable time delay and loss of information
2006
This paper deals with the control of network distributed systems which has been at the centre of interest in a wide area of research in the last few year. The control of such systems is very difficult because the communication networks inevitably introduce variable time delays and possible lost of samples. In particular, it is proposed an extension of the approach, derived in the contest of the optimal stochastic regulator problem [1], [2], to the remote tracking problem considering a distributed control system in which the signals from the transducers to the controller and from the controller to the actuator are transmitted through a communication network with variable delays and possible …
Cyber Security for Wireless Semantic (SCADA/DCS) Systems
2016
International audience; Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition and Distributed Control Systems named (SCADA/DCS) have played a key role in the design of modern power smart applications, particularly in the automatic management of real time energetic platforms. In this work, we present a semantic cyber security vulnerabilities add to classic one, with the use of semantic embedded application in smart devices in semantic wireless (SCADA/DCS) systems, focusing on the semantic attacks. In this work, we present a new security semantic wireless protocol as a secure communication support for these modern semantic wireless systems named (ZIGBEE/SOAP/SECURITY), obtained by the combination between …
Distributed $n$-player approachability and consensus in coalitional games
2015
We study a distributed allocation process where, at each time, every player: i) proposes a new bid based on the average utilities produced up to that time, ii) adjusts such allocations based on the inputs received from its neighbors, and iii) generates and allocates new utilities. The average allocations evolve according to a doubly (over time and space) averaging algorithm. We study conditions under which the average allocations reach consensus to any point within a predefined target set even in the presence of adversarial disturbances. Motivations arise in the context of coalitional games with transferable utilities (TU) where the target set is any set of allocations that makes the grand …
A distributed control system for citric fruits conservation and maturation based on CAN and Internet networks
2007
In citric fruits conservation and maturation systems it is very important to have precise information about parameters that indicate the citric fruit state. This information allows computing the appropriate control actions in order to achieve an optimum controlled citric fruit conservation and maturation. Last technological advances must be also used in this agriculture field to forget the rudimentary control systems that are being used at the present time. This paper describes a new distributed control system devoted to control citric fruits cold chambers that applies the last computer and electronics techniques. It is structured over different communication networks, making possible a rem…
Analysis and validation in design time of distributed control systems implemented by means of rule based expert systems
2005
In this paper a new analytical method for control systems validation is presented. The control system will be implemented by means of expert systems based on rule nets, which are a formalism that seeks to express an automatism in a similar way to as would make it a human being: "IF antecedents THEN consequent". But at the same time rule nets are a tool for the design, analysis and implementation of rule based systems (RBS), and consist on a mathematic-logical structure which analytically reflects the set of rules that the human expert has designed. The validation consist on the analysis of the decisive rule nets properties in design time. This properties have been studied and formalized com…
Enabling ubiquitous wireless sensor networks: A new fault tolerant RF architecture with perpetual electrical power based on 802.15.4 and RFID
2007
The wireless communications field is in continuous growth and revolution. The current trend toward the use of distributed wireless systems is due to these systems have demonstrated to be a good option due to its flexibility and power. In this line, nowadays there is an enormous demand of wireless connectivity for any industrial control applications, included critical systems. In this paper, we want to discuss possibilities and necessary developments to set up wireless communication for industrial applications in general and critical systems in particular. Furthermore, an abstract definition of a layered architecture for the development of intelligent and distributed control systems based on…
A CAN Fieldbus Based Architecture for Distributed Control Systems Implementation
2003
Abstract The application of distributed systems theory to the implementation of industrial control systems is one of the best options to develop simple, scalable and physically distributed control systems. Following this line, our group has proposed a new architecture based on Rule Nets (RN) as an HLP over CAN fieldbus for the implementation of Distributed Systems. This architecture has been applied to several control applications, obtaining excellent results. The most outstanding feature of the architecture was its simplicity in the control systems design, without any efficiency loss. New capabilities have been added to improve its features and develop new analysis tools, in order to incre…
IGISOL control system modernization
2016
Abstract Since 2010, the IGISOL research facility at the Accelerator laboratory of the University of Jyvaskyla has gone through major changes. Comparing the new IGISOL4 facility to the former IGISOL3 setup, the size of the facility has more than doubled, the length of the ion transport line has grown to about 50 m with several measurement setups and extension capabilities, and the accelerated ions can be fed to the facility from two different cyclotrons. The facility has evolved to a system comprising hundreds of manual, pneumatic and electronic devices. These changes have prompted the need to modernize also the facility control system taking care of monitoring and transporting the ion beam…
